London: Otto - Cornmeal Pizza

One of the best pizzas you’ll eat in London. The texture is different than a traditional pizza since it’s made with cornmeal, however, it gives the pizza a unique flavour profile that I like. Worth a trip across town for.

My moms been visiting London for the last 10 days of her three week trip. A smorgasbord of food we’ve consumed this weekend. She has been very pleased so far and is really loving all the architecture.

Hotcakes and green drink are from Granger & Co. The other dish is from The Gate. Both in London.

London: Caravan King’s Cross - Jalapeno Cornbread & Black Beans
A mix of sweet and spicy cornbread with a mild black bean salad was the perfect start to the summer in London. The extra kick of jalapeno made the usually even taste cornbread work. Plus the cornbread had real kernels too.

Copenhagen: Lagkagehuset (bakery) - Fruit Cheesecake
Cheesecake has always been my first one. The mix of sweet fruit with a layer of berry’s between the graham crust and cheesecake mix makes this a perfect summer treat. The citrus fruit at the back was new to me. Not sure what it’s called? Maybe it’s native to Scandinavia.

Train To Copenhagen Airport

image

I’m sitting on a bus to the train station that’ll connect me to Copenhagen airport. Not a luxurious way to travel but it means you can get tons of weekends away.

One of the bonuses about living in London has been weekends away. Just hop a plane and you’re in a new country in little as two hours. 3 days in Copenhagen has been phenomenal.

A city full of beautiful architecture and designer objects. You could spend a day walking around and not see the same street twice. Plus the food is top notch; a few pounds more than you’d pay in London. However, it usually comes with fresh fruit, granola and tons of homemade rye bread.

Last but not least… Beautiful men. Thanks to Christian for an awesome Friday night. Alison, as always, is a great partner in crime for traveling. If you can afford to come to Copenhagen. I highly recommend it…you won’t be disappeared.

I’m Still Alive..

..been quiet the last few months and not on purpose. I’ve been busy working at a startup in East London; heading up all our paid marketing channels while also starting to take on running analytics & UX too. Very happy about the last bit. Something I’ve wanted to do more of in my career. To say I’ve been busy would be an understatement.

While I bunkered down for Winter, worked my ass off and saved money. Happy to say I’ve a weekend away to Denmark and Olso coming up in May & June. Planning out the Summer and Autumn travel schedule… as I always do. So blogging should be back as the food over the summer will be yummy.

Sadly no pictures from my birthday last weekend but I had BBQ, Italian, and seasonal British meals for the last two weeks. If this is the foreshadow for the rest of 2014. We’ll all be well served.
